Description
Chambourcin is a relatively new grape that was first grown as a French/American hybrid in 1963. Due to its hardiness and disease tolerance, it is becoming popular in Canada, US and Australia.
Our varietal was grown on the western slope in Palisade, Colorado where it thrives with the warm days and cool nights. It is of medium body with a ruby red color. While it has notes of vanilla, black cherry and currants, it is a bit spicy on the finish. It is of soft acidity due to being aged in oak barrels.
For optimal enjoyment, serve at cellar temperature with grilled steak, beef au jus or pasta ragu.
